1. Handle incoming claim department calls including initial claim information.
2. Set up claims/incidents including retrieval and verification of coverage.
3. Prepare routine claim letters as assigned.
4. Assist in investigation of covered claims as assigned.
5. Handle claim/policy verifications from health care facilities.
6. Handle claims bills, review and processing.
7. File routine claim correspondence,
8. Retrieve, review, date stamp and disseminate department mail.
9. Handle/coordinate department activities in Claim Manager’s and Claims Representative’s absence.
10. Handle Reinsurance billing including calculations, prepare claim submissions.
11. Plan, organize and complete special claim projects as assigned.
12. Prepare special reports for AAO Insurance Company’s claims committee and Board of Directors
13. Assist marketing and underwriting in special projects as needed
14. Perform general office duties, such as supply ordering.
15. Scan closed files into Docuware.
16. Complete and disseminate claim Questionaires on closed files.

1. Associate’s degree or the equivalent combination in education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Good written and verbal communication skills.
3. Working knowledge of Office 2010 Suite.
